چکیده

2 Routley-Meyer Frames Relevant logics are interesting things. One motivating principle for these logics is the requirement that if a conditional of the form ! is to be true, there must be a connection between and . The antecedent must somehow be relevant to the consequent . This is simple to chart prooftheoretically, and for years, this was how relevant logics were studied. (A great deal of that work is charted in Anderson and Belnap 1975.) It was quite a deal harder to give relevant logics a semantics like the possible-worlds semantics for modal logics. There is a good reason for this. In possible worlds talk, a conditional ! is true at a world w (say w j= ! ) if and only if for each world v accessible from w (say wRv) if is true at v then is also true at v. In other words, a conditional is true at a world if and only if it is truth preserving at all accessible worlds.

Logics, Situations and Channels *

The notion of that information is relative to a context is important in many different ways. The idea that the context is small — that is, not necessarily a consistent and complete possible world — plays a role not only in situation theory, but it is also an enlightening perspective from which to view other areas, such as modal logics, relevant logics, categorial grammar and much more. In this ...

Nonmonotonic Multi-Context Systems: A Flexible Approach for Integrating Heterogeneous Knowledge Sources

MCS provide a flexible, principled account of integrating heterogeneous knowledge sources, a task that is becoming more and more relevant. By a knowledge source we mean a knowledge base (KB) formulated in any of the typical knowledge representation languages, including classical logic, description logics, modal or temporal logics, but also nonmonotonic formalisms like logic programs under answe...

Decidable Extensions of Hennessy-Milner Logic

We propose a new class of logics for specifying and modelchecking properties of distributed systems Dynamic Epistemic Spatial Logics. They have been designed as extensions of Hennessy-Milner logic with spatial operators (inspired by Cardelli-Gordon-Caires spatial logic) and epistemic operators (inspired by dynamic-epistemic logics). Our logics focus on observers, agents placed in different loca...

Displaying and Deciding Substructural Logics

Many logics in the relevant family can be given a proof theory in the style of Belnap's display logic (Belnap 1982). However, as originally given, the proof theory is essentially more expressive than the logics they seek to model. In this paper, we consider a modiied proof theory which more closely models relevant logics. In addition, we use this proof theory to provide decidability proofs for ...
